Lionel W. Forbes Jr., 34, Vero Beach

Lionel W. Forbes Jr., 34, died May 7, 2013, at the Indian River Medical Center in Vero Beach.

He was born in Miami and lived most of his life in Vero Beach.

He was a U.S. customs agent for the Canadian border.

He also worked for Omni Financial in Vero Beach.

He had a radio show on Tenacity Radio and was known as the Flawda Gator.

He was a graduate of the University of Florida and was a tuba player for its band.

He was a member of Kappa Kappa Psi fraternity Alpha Chapter, Gainesville.

Survivors include his father, Lionel W. Forbes Sr., of Miami; mother, Sarah Y. Detelus, of Vero Beach; brothers, Joisaint W. Detelus, of Bensalem, Pa., Kevin Clark, of West Palm Beach and Chris Forbes, of Nassau, Bahamas; sisters, Ilana D. Detelus, of Vero Beach, Monique Forbes, of Nassau and Samantha Russell, of Free Port, Grand Bahamas; and grandmother, Sarah M. Minnis, of Wabasso.

Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. May 17 at the Cox Gifford Seawinds Funeral Home in Vero Beach.

A funeral service will be noon May 18 at St. Helen Catholic Church in Vero Beach.

Inurnment will follow at Wabasso Cemetery.
