Gateways to Leadership Event May 18

VERO BEACH — Join a unique gathering of women; women of passion and purpose. The East Florida Chapter, USNC for UN women, invites you to their Fifth Annual Membership Celebration with high tea, scones, hors d’oeuvres, and stimulating discussions on women’s challenges in their careers, and taking leadership roles in the work place and not preempting potential changes in their family structure.

Deepti Sadhwani, M.D., a successful and highly respected board certified physician in both bariatric and internal medicine, with expertise in weight management, nutrition, hormones, and metabolism, will share her unique journey on balancing her professional career with her responsibilities and expectations as an Indian wife and mother.

This will be followed by a facilitated discussion based on the thought provoking book “Lean In,” written by Sheryl Sandberg, COO of Facebook.

“We will discuss specific steps that women can take to combine their professional goals with personal fulfillment. The time has come where men must consciously support and mentor women in the work place and share a more equitable partnership at home,” explained Lalita Janke, President East Florida Chapter.

The Gateways to Leadership Event will take place on Saturday, May 18, from 3-5:30 p.m. at Sea Oaks Beach Club, 8850 Sea Oaks Way in Vero Beach (south of Disney Resort.)
