McKee announces new board members and president

VERO BEACH — McKee Botanical Garden is proud to announce the appointment of its new board president Barbara Holmén-McKenna and board members Judi Beaumont, Gail Malin, Karen Meyer, and Sandra Rennick.

Barbara Holmén-McKenna has been an active member of the Vero Beach community for over 20 years. She served eight years on the town council for Indian River Shores, which included four years as mayor.

She also has been a member of the Board of Trustees for the Vero Beach Museum of Art as well as a member of the John’’s Island By-laws Committee.

Judi Beaumont is Vice President and Personal Trust Advisor in the Vero Beach/Indian River County region office of the Northern Trust Company. Judi has 15 years of banking and trust administration experience and previously worked in the private practice of law for 11 years.

Her civic and service organization affiliations currently include United Way, Habitat for Humanity, Heathcote Botanical Garden, and the Indian River Estate Planning Council, Inc.

Gail Malin currently is a member and former president of Sea Oaks Garden Club. She has held officer positions on boards for the Reeves-Reed Arboretum in Summit, NJ, the Arboretum Commission of Summit, and the Summit Garden Club. She has been actively involved in the Garden Club of America and has served on the board for Riverside Theatre.

Karen Meyer is a former member of McKee’’s Advisory Committee and has held volunteer leadership positions at several organizations in the Cleveland, OH area including Cleveland Botanical Garden, the Cleveland Museum of Art, Colony Garden Club, the Columbus Museum of Art, and the Franklin Park Conservatory, among others. She also is a member of the Garden Club of America.

Sandra Rennick is an attorney with Gould Cooksey Fennell O’Neill. She serves as chair of the firm’s Business & Commercial Enterprise Group and is a member of the Finance & Institutional Lending Group and the Real Property Group.

Sandra’’s practice is dedicated to the areas of business and commercial enterprise. A lifelong resident of Vero Beach, she has been involved with Dollars for Scholars, Habitat for Humanity, and the Indian River County Real Property Council.

McKee’’s 2013-2014 officers are: Barbara Holmén-McKenna, president; Robert W. Bauchman, first vice president; Matt McManus, vice president; Marcia Blackburn, secretary; and Susan Schuyler Smith, treasurer.
