Jeanne C. Paynton, 90, Vero Beach

Jeanne C. Paynton, 90, died May 9, 2013, at Indian River Medical Center in Vero Beach.

She was born in Rockford, Ill., and lived in Vero Beach since 1980, coming from Fort Lauderdale.

Before moving to Vero Beach, she was the owner of His and Hers Tailors in Fort Lauderdale.

During World War II, she contributed to the war effort by helping to manufacture airplanes.

She was a member of St. John of the Cross Catholic Church, Vero Beach.

Survivors include her nieces, Catherine Kelly and Christine Dorman, both of Parkland, and Sally Ann Swenson and Mary Bachman, both of Fort Lauderdale; and cousin, Linda Hibbits-Helm, of Fort Lauderdale.

A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. May 16 at St. John of the Cross Catholic Church.

Burial will be May 17 at Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell.
