Funds and Awareness are raised during Hurricane Hangar Party

VERO BEACH — A few hundred people gathered at the Vero Beach Airport’s Sun Aviation hangar for the 5th Annual Hurricane Hangar Party.

“The mission of this (event) is twofold tonight. First of all is to raise funds so that we can be here to respond in times of any disasters, and the second is to help all of you be personally prepared,” said Sarah Ruwe, of the American Red Cross.

New this year was a flash mob during a break from music by Bobby and the Blisters.

Merchandise vendors, exhibitors, and silent auction items also complemented the food and drink on hand.
