Melissa Lynn Thornton, 29, died May 7, 2013, in Vero Beach.
She was born in Detroit, and lived in Vero Beach for 25 years, coming from Detroit.
She worked as a waitress in the hospitality industry.
Survivors include her mother, Kimberly Ann Thornton, of Sebastian; father, Thomas James Thornton, of Sebastian; grandmothers, Loretta Thornton, of Philadelphia, and Connie Denomme, of Detroit; and grandfather, Richard Reppa, of Vero Beach.

A memorial service is scheduled for 11 a.m. May 11 at Seawinds Funeral Home Chapel, Sebastian.
