VERO BEACH — In celebration of National Teacher Appreciation Week, McKee Botanical Garden is offering $1 admission to all educators on Saturday, May 11.
Teachers and education employees can present their school identification at Admissions to receive the special discounted rate.
“Education is one of our core values here at McKee, and we strongly support education in our community. This is an opportunity to give back to our local teachers and administrators in appreciation for their role in shaping the minds and character of our youth,” stated Executive Director Christine Hobart.
Located on an 18-acre tropical hammock, McKee Botanical Garden is home to a diverse collection of more than 10,000 native and tropical plants as well as 100 species of waterlilies.
The site features two unique structures designed and built by founder and folk artist, Waldo Sexton, and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
McKee’s summer admission rates are $7 for adults, $6 for seniors, and $4 for children ages 3 to 12. Admission is free for members and children under 3.
McKee Botanical Garden is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization whose mission is to nurture and enhance a historic garden in a unique tropical setting for the education, enjoyment, and enrichment of all.
McKee Botanical Garden is located at 350 US 1 in Vero Beach.
Hours of operation are Tuesday through Saturday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Sunday from Noon to 5 p.m. The Garden is closed Mondays.
