Alice Wykoff Beckley, 89, Vero Beach

Alice Wykoff Beckley, 89, died May 5, 2013, at VNA Hospice House.

She was born in Evansville, Ind., and lived in Vero Beach since 1938, coming from Stuart.

She worked as a civilian employee for the Navy at Naval Air Station Vero Beach during World War II.

She then became a secretary for Seald Sweet Growers in the local citrus industry and later the Indian River County Board of Realtors.

She was a member of Trinity Episcopal Church since 1940, where she served on the Altar Guild.

She was a graduate of Vero Beach High School, Class of 1942, where she was in the marching band and was part of the class that produced the first edition of the VBHS yearbook, “The Arrowhead.”

Survivors include her sons, Richard D. “Trick” Wykoff and William R. “Rick” Wykoff, both of Vero Beach; stepson, James M. “Jim” Beckley of Vero Beach; sister, Carol St. Onge of Hobe Sound; four grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her first husband of 25 years, Richard D. Wykoff, in 1975; and her second husband of 20 years, Thomas M. Beckley, in 2000.

Memorial contributions may be made to the IRC Humane Society, 6230 77th St., Vero Beach, FL 32967; or the VNA Hospice, 1110 35th Lane, Vero Beach, FL 32960.

A memorial service will be at 3 p.m. May 9 at Trinity Episcopal Church in Vero Beach.

Her ashes will be placed in the family plot in Crestlawn Cemetery in Vero Beach.
