Edward Creed, 94, Vero Beach

Edward Creed, 94, died April 29, 2013, at Somerset House, Vero Beach.

He was born in Rutland, Vt., and lived in Vero Beach for 30 years.

He received a Bachelor of Science degree in mechanical engineering from the University of Vermont.

He served in the Army Air Corps Air Transport Command during World War II as an aircraft engineering maintenance officer in the China-Burma-India Theater, where he received a Presidential Citation.

After 31 years as an engineering project manager, he retired from Pratt and Whitney Aircraft, East Hartford, Conn.

He was a member of Holy Cross Catholic Church, where he was active in the Youth Ministry and the Ministry for the Sick.

He was a member of the American Society of Mechanical Engineers and the Oak Harbor Club.

Survivors include two grandchildren and one great-grandson.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, Rita Mangan Creed, and his second wife, Veronica Creed; daughter, Ann Creed Clark; brothers, Joseph Creed and John Creed; and sister, Elizabeth Creed Culloo.

Memorial contributions may be made to Holy Cross Catholic Church, 500 Iris Lane, Vero Beach, FL 32963.

A Mass of Christian burial will be at 10 a.m. May 3 at Holy Cross Catholic Church.

Interment will be at Florida National Cemetery at a later date.
