Original Welcome Wagon Club event a success

SEBASTIAN — More than 185 women attended the Original Welcome Wagon Club of Sebastian’s second annual luncheon and fashion show.

Peggy Andrie and Toni Falk were co-chairs of the event entitled “Fly Into Spring,” which had a kite motif designed by Joan Kimmel and her committee members.

Twenty-seven fashions, supplied by Bealls of Vero Beach, were introduced by Toni Falk and modeled by Barbara Creran, Gayle Williams, Jean Wendel, Wilma Kaelin, Judy Delz, Nancy Whitcomb, Drema Moyer, Peggy Andrie, and Sharon Smith.

The proceeds from this event will be donated to various local organizations such as Camp Haven, Sebastian Elementary School Backpack Program, Safe Space, and scholarships awarded to qualified seniors from Sebastian River High School.

Thanks were given to the Sebastian Elks Lodge #2714 for the use of its hall, Debbi Hanford and her kitchen staff, the Welcome Wagon members who donated items for the Chinese auction, all of the members who worked very hard to make the fashion show a success, and to the following merchants who contributed door prizes: Annie’s Bistro, Boyington Goldsmith, California Nails, Debbie’s Hair Pampering, Galleon Jewelers, Guiseppe’s in Sebastian, Headlines, the Humane Society Thrift Shop in Sebastian, Inlet Wines & Brew, Mandarin Gardens, Mulligan’s, Nelly’s Boutique, Pelican Diner, Pizzo’s Italian Deli, R Bay Salon, Red Nails, Red Rooster, Sherri’s Floral Shoppe, Subway, Vittoria’s, and the VNA Hidden Treasures in Sebastian.
