Mary Lou Phelan, 85, died April 22, 2013, at Palm Garden of Vero Beach.
She was born in Boston and lived in Vero Beach for 20 years.
Before retirement, she was an elementary school teacher for 20 years in New England.
She was a member of Our Lady of Elms in Chicopee, Mass., and St. Helen Catholic Church in Vero Beach.
Survivors include her husband of 49 years, William Phelan Sr., of Vero Beach; sons, William Phelan Jr., of Acton, Mass., and John Phelan, of Weymouth, Mass.; daughter, Catherine Colavecchio, of Colchester, Conn.; and four grandsons.
