I’ve heard this argument time and time again on facebook. “Hey, you can’t use the same photo as me for your profile photo.”
Granted, it’s usually between couples, be it a baby photo, a photo from their wedding, or their favorite portrait photo.
Usually, the “discussion” is played out over each others facebook accounts as their friends and relatives either weigh in or roll their eyes.
Recently, my wife and I had a similar discussion. It was over both of us having a photo of our daughter with bunny ears from Easter. But, there was a nuance to the argument that I’ve not yet seen in my other facebook connections. She took her own photo and I took one of her later in the day. The two photos only had minute differences.
So, in that instance, there wasn’t much of an argument, I’m sure there will be a time that we will have a cyber-war over who gets to use what photo for their profile pic.
Have you run into this before? If so, how did you resolve the “issue”?
As I write this I’m thinking about a quote similar to the one in the movie Maverick. “Next time I’m going to pick the ugliest, non-fuzzy, non-cute photo I can find for my facebook profile pic.” (And hope no one flags it as inappropriate.
