Signe Maria Peterson, 95, died Feb. 8, 2013, at Indian River Medical Center, Vero Beach.
She was born in Kristianstad County, Sweden, and moved to Vero Beach in 1977, coming from Lewiston, N.Y., having previously lived in New Jersey, Maryland and Sweden.
She was a member of Our Savior Lutheran Church, a volunteer and member of McKee Botanical Garden and a Happy Stitchers member at Vista Gardens.
Survivors include her son, David A. Peterson, of Vero Beach; sister, Mae Newton, of Bradford, Vt.; two grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 44 years, Harold M. Peterson, in 1983; and sisters, Dagmar Schreitz, Irma Benson and Elsy Kathan.
Memorial contributions may be made to Our Savior Lutheran Church, 1850 Sixth Ave., Vero Beach, FL 32960.
A memorial service will be conducted at 11 a.m. April 29 at Our Savior Lutheran Church in Vero Beach.
