Glee and Crumpets: A Tea and Trunk Show

VERO BEACH — The VAPA Choral Parents’ Association for the Indian River Charter High School Choral Department is sponsoring Glee & Crumpets: A Tea and Trunk Show on Saturday, April 20, at the community Church in Vero Beach.

The trunk show will be in the covered walkways from 1 to 4 p.m. The tea will be inside the Community Hall and will include Tea & Nibbles with a variety of musical performances by the choral groups form the high school.

The tea seating is at 2 p.m.; doors will open at 1 p.m.

There will also be gift raffles and silent auctions.

Tickets will be sold before the event for $15.

The trunk show will feature approximately 30 local businesses and artisans.

The proceeds from this event will not only help to purchase new girls’ uniforms and to fund scholarships, but a portion will also be given to the Samaritan Center for Homeless Families in Vero Beach.

This is “Kids Helping Kids.”

Donations of teapots, creamers and sugars, teacups and saucers would be greatly appreciated to help keep our costs down. Sponsors and vendors for the trunk show and donations of auction and raffle items are also in need.

Please contact Suzanne Fallon at (772)  794-5412 to make donations, sign up to be a vendor, or pledge sponsorship.

They have also participated in many invitational choir programs including Carnegie Hall, and most recently at the Aegean Sea Music Festival in Greece during July of 2012.

Their newest invitations include performing at the Vatican in Rome, Italy and a choice of 3 locales to represent the state of Florida in commemorations of the 70th anniversary of World War II. This program is respected at the highest levels of music education.

The Samaritan Center for Homeless Families offers long-term transitional housing and guidance to the homeless families in Indian River County.

The extensive training programs prepare the families for successful, independent living. They have existed for over 20 years and have assisted countless local families.
