Come celebrate Arbor Day April 26

VERO BEACH — Vero Beach, FL was named a 2012 Tree City USA by the Arbor Day Foundation in honor of its commitment to effective urban forest management. This is the 32nd year Vero Beach has earned the national designation.

Vero Beach achieved Tree City USA recognition by meeting the program’s four requirements: a tree board, a tree-care ordinance, an annual community forestry budget of at least $2 per capita, and an Arbor Day observance and proclamation.

On April 26, 2013 at 10 a.m., the city of Vero Beach and the Vero Beach Tree and Beautification Commission will be planting two trees at MacWilliams Park located off Indian River Dr. E., in Vero Beach to commemorate Arbor Day.

The Vero Beach City Council and the schoolchildren from Beachland Elementary School have been invited to participate.

All interested parties are also cordially invited to attend this Arbor Day celebration.
