Amelia “Amy” Tella Loomis, 79, died April 5, 2013, at the Indian River Medical Center, Vero Beach.
She was born in Rhode Island and lived in Florida since 1996, coming from Rhode Island.
Before retirement, she was a teacher in Johnston, R.I., for more than 30 years.
She was of the Catholic faith and attended St. John of the Cross Catholic Church in Vero Beach.
Survivors include her daughters, Patricia Fleming and Lynn Moss, both of Vero Beach, Dale Hopkins, of Gloster, R.I., and Victoria “Vicki” Suplizio, of Sebastian; sister, Irma Olszewski, of Vero Beach; 11 grandchildren; and 22 great- grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 48 years, George Russell Loomis; and brother, Nicholas “Nicky” Tella.

Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. April 19 at the Cox Gifford Seawinds Funeral Home and Crematory in Vero Beach.
A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 2 p.m. April 20 at St. John of the Cross Catholic Church.
A graveside service will take place in St. Ann’s Cemetery in Cranston, R.I., at 11:30 a.m. April 27.
