Max E. Hecht, 72, died April 3, 2013, at his home.
He was born in Peoria, Ill., and lived in Vero Beach for 20 years, coming from Daytona Beach.
He served in the Marine Corps.
He graduated with an associate’s degree from Daytona Beach Community College.
He worked as a carpenter in Peoria and Daytona Beach, where he also held a real estate license.
He was a member of the American Motorcycle Assoc.
Survivors include his son, Chris T. Hecht, of Bartonville, Ill.; daughter, Cher Davis, of Vero Beach; his former wife of 19 years, Barbara J. Birkett (Quenon); and two grandsons.
Private services will be April 13 at Ponce Inlet.
Arrangements are under the direction of Cox Gifford Seawinds Funeral Home and Crematory, Vero Beach.
