Boys and Girls Club learns about fishing

VERO BEACH — What a great partnership between the Boys and Girls Club and the Vero Beach Power Squadron. Youth learning to fish and hearing basic boating safety – which is what the fishing outing is all about. Many of the kids have never been fishing or boating prior to this experience.

On Saturday March 23, captains arrived at the Power Squadron building to take the youth boating and fishing. The youth began the morning event by being fitted with Personal Floatation Devices and hearing boating safety information, which they were quizzed on after their lunch.

Prizes were awarded for catching the most fish, the least number of fish, and the biggest fish.

The Vero Beach Power Squadron is a non-profit boating safety education organization. The goal is to provide safety boating education to the public and our members.
