VERO BEACH — In an effort to maximize Rossway Moore Swan’s charitable impact and to deepen their bond with the community, the firm’s partners created the Rossway Moore Swan Foundation, devoted solely to giving grants to fund selected technological needs of local non-profit organizations.
Funded with contributions from the firm’s profits, the foundation shares in the firm’s success so as to benefit the interests of the local community. Managed by partner Tom Tierney, the foundation annually solicits applications for assistance in the technological development of Indian River County charitable organizations.
Over fifty Indian River County non-profits submitted an application for a grant and following a process of reviews, sixteen applications were accepted for 2013.
“We are thrilled with the number of applications the foundation received this year. The selection process becomes more difficult as the community’s needs increase.
The foundation’s focus on providing improved technological resources to the area’s non-profits is just one means in which Rossway Moore Swan is committed to the betterment of the community. It is our mission to bridge needs with resources throughout Indian River County,” explained Tom Tierney.
The foundation will fill the non-profit requests that include the needs for computers, associated hardware, laptops, projectors, scanners, printers and iPads, software, internet service subscriptions, and technology grants.
The firm’s technology consultant, Eric Price of Technology Partners Consulting, Inc., collaborates with the foundation offering set-up, installation, and technological expertise.
All recipients were recently invited to a continental breakfast at the Rossway Moore Swan law offices to mingle with one another and later pose for photographs.
The grant winners include: Academy for the Performing Arts, Environmental Learning Center, Inc., Feed the Lambs, Fellsmere Community Enrichment Program, Gifford Youth Orchestra, H.A.L.O.
