Loren “Gene” Linn, 80, Vero Beach

Loren “Gene” Linn, 80, died March 29, 2013, at his home.

He was born in Jersey City, N.J., and lived in Vero Beach for 11 years, coming from Islamorada and Jupiter.

He served in the Navy during the Korean War.

Before retirement, he was a sales manager for Bankers Life in South Florida for 35 years.

He attended Faith Baptist Church in Fort Pierce. He was a volunteer for the ambulance squad in Tavernier.

He formally served on the Pompton Plains Police Dept. in New Jersey.

He also volunteered for Hospice in the Keys and was a lifetime supporter of the Florida Sheriffs Youth Ranch.

Survivors include his wife of 33 years, Clair, of Vero Beach; daughters, Nancybeth Arnold, of Tucson, Ariz., Sharon Nicholas, of Oveido, Joanne Claycomb, of Stuart, Carol Linn-Culp, of Vero Beach, Lauren Linn, of Jupiter and Lori Griffin, of Lake Worth; stepsons, David and Regis Flagler, both of Lockport, N.Y., Bruce Flagler, of Gasport, N.Y., and Dennis Flagler, of Vero Beach; sister, Mary Collins, of York, Pa.; 14 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his grandson, Tyler Flagler.

Memorial contributions may be made to Faith Baptist Church Building Fund, 3607 Oleander Ave., Fort Pierce, FL 34982.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. April 6 at Faith Baptist Church in Fort Pierce.

A burial with military honors will be at South Florida National Cemetery at a later date.

Arrangements are by Aycock Funeral Home in Fort Pierce.
