VERO BEACH — Dogs For Life, Inc. (DFL) & Dono, a non-profit organization dedicated to providing services to the community by training and certifying hearing and mobility assistance dogs, as well as “Service Dogs For Soldiers” and “Canines For Comfort,” is holding their 2013 Annual Donor & Volunteer Appreciation Event at the Off-Leash Dog Park, at 1230 16th Ave. in Vero Beach, on April 6, at 11 a.m.
Fred Jones and “Sissy Girl” will be presented with the Assistance Dog Team of the Year Award.
Carol Hartwig and “Baxter” will be presented with the Pet Assisted Therapy Team Award.
Jack Saucerman will be presented with The Volunteer of the Year Award.
Sydney Liebman, editor of Luminaries of Scripps Treasure Coast Newspapers, will be presented with the Media Award.
Elsebeth Sexton Stryker will be presented with the Individual Philanthropist Award, and Anthony Donadio will be presented with the Corporate Philanthropist of the Year Award.
Donors and volunteers will be served BBQ and refreshments by staff members in appreciation for their service to DFL.
