Indian River County man arrested in 3-month drug investigation

INDIAN RIVER COUNTY — An Indian River County man was arrested, accused of having drugs and weapons Monday after a three month long investigation by the Sheriff’s Office Multi-Agency Criminal Enforcement.

Acting on complaints from neighbors and an anonymous tip the MACE Unit conducted an investigation of Omar Outten, 30, of the 9800 block of E. Verona Circle, west of Interstate 95 and several miles south of State Road 60.

That investigation led to a search warrant, which was enacted Monday on Outten’s home. Investigators found 132 capsules of methylone – known on the street as “Molly” – as well as 9 grams of marijuana, $1,200 in cash, a pistol, a shotgun, and ammunition for both.

Outten faces charges that include possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, methylone possession with intent to distribute, and marijuana possession, according to the arrest report. He is being held at the county jail on $50,500 bail.
