VERO BEACH — The Annual Indian River Habitat for Humanity HabiTrot to Higher Education 5K Run/Walk will take place Saturday, March 30, at South Beach Park in Vero Beach. A 1-mile Bunny Hop for Kids will take place just before the 5K gets under way.
Awards will go to: Top 3 finishers overall; top 3 male and top 3 female finishers in each age group. Age groups: 14 & under; 15-19; 20-29; 30-39; 40-49; 50-59; 60-69; 70-79; 80 & over.
The fun-filled HabiTrot was introduced to support Habitat’s Scholarship/Education Fund, which was formed to help give homeowners and their children a chance at higher education.
This fund helps to provide educational after-school care and summer care by subsidizing cost and grants scholarships for students and homeowners who are college-bound or for post-secondary educational programs.
Registration – 7 a.m.
Bunny Hop – 7:30 a.m.
5K – 8 a.m.
HabiTrot pre-registration fee is $25; $30 day of race; $10 Bunny Hop.
