Hester Thompson, 89, died March 12, 2013, at Atlantic Healthcare Center.
She was born in Gifford and lived in Indian River County for more than 60 years.
She was a member of New Testament Church and served on the Usher Board and Mother’s Board.
Survivors include her daughter, Lillie Lawrence, of Philadelphia; sister, Hallie Sermons, of Titusville; three grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. March 22 at Stone Brothers Funeral Chapel.
A funeral service will be at 11 a.m. March 23 at Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church in Vero Beach.
Burial will follow in Gifford Cemetery.
