Robert K. Cavan, 88, Vero Beach

Robert K. Cavan, 88, died March 16, 2013, at Indian River Estates Medical Center in Vero Beach.

He was born in Detroit and moved to Vero Beach in 1992 from Rochester Hills, Mich.

He was a veteran of World War II, serving as a flight officer and navigator on a B-17, was shot down in Germany and held as a POW until the end of the war.

He attended the University of Michigan and worked for Ford Tractor Division for 33 years, retiring as supervisor of product analysis and publications.

He attended the First Presbyterian Church of Vero Beach and had been a member of the Vero Beach Country Club.

He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Nancy H. Cavan, of Vero Beach; daughters, Linda Marshall, of Berkley, Mich., and Sally Bradford, of Ortonville, Mich.; son Peter Cavan, of Oxford, Mich.; and eight grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his brother, Frank Cavan.

Memorial contributions may be made to the First Presbyterian Church Building Fund, 520 Royal Palm Blvd., Vero Beach, FL 32960.

A private service for the family will take place at a later date.

Arrangements are by Strunk Funeral Home and Crematory, Vero Beach.
