Virginia Ann “Jennie” Hollis Runnels, 80, Vero Beach

Virginia Ann “Jennie” Hollis Runnels, 80, died March 14, 2013, at the Vero Beach VNA Hospice House.

She was born in Coker, Ala., and lived in Vero Beach.

She was a member of First Baptist Church of Vero Beach, where she was active in Sunday school and other church activities.

She was a treasurer for the local chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR).

She was a round dancing instructor.

Survivors include her husband of 62 years, Jim; daughter, Pat, of Vero Beach; sons, Rick Runnels, of Evans, Ga., Dave Runnels, of Orlando and Mike Runnels, of Vero Beach; sisters, Millie Sartain, of Philadelphia and Mary Frances Broome, of Memphis, Tenn.; nine grandchildren, four great-grandchildren.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Visiting Nurse Association & Hospice Foundation, 1110 35th Lane, Vero Beach, FL 32960.

A memorial service will be at 9 a.m. March 19 at First Baptist Church of Vero Beach.

Arrangements are by Aycock Funeral Home, Fort Pierce.
