Charles E. “Charlie Brown” Swanson, 75, died March 15, 2013, at the VNA Hospice House.
He was born in Chicago and lived in Vero Beach since 1996, coming from Loveland, Colo.
He served in the Marine Corps.
He received his master’s degree from Loyola University.
Prior to retirement, he worked for the IBM Corp. before opening his own insurance and real estate business.
He also worked as a drug and alcohol counselor.
Survivors include his wife of 45 years, Carol Swanson; son, Tony Swanson; daughter, Cathy Lorenz; sister, Sandra Nolin; brother, Dr. Gerald Swanson; two grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

A memorial service will be at 11 a.m. March 18 at Cox Gifford Seawinds Funeral Home and Crematory, Vero Beach.
