George Henry Daley, 76, died March 10, 2013, at Sebastian River Medical Center in Sebastian.
He was born in Rutland, Vt., and lived in Sebastian for 25 years, coming from Bennington, Vt.
He was a member of St. Sebastian Catholic Church and the Knights of Columbus Council 5627 in Vero Beach.
He was a corrections officer for the Indian River County Sheriff’s Office, retiring after 10 years of service.
He was a captain in the Marine Corps during the Korean War.
He attended American International College in Springfield, Mass., and graduated from Castleton College in Vermont with a bachelor of arts degree.
He taught at the Pownal School in Bennington, and worked for the Department of Education in Montpelier, Vt., and Department of Social Services in Bennington.
Survivors include his wife of 44 years, Rita Daley, of Sebastian; daughters, Anne Wood, of Northfield, Vt., Priscilla Osmer, of Ledyard, Conn., Patricia Boyce, of St. Albans, Vt. and Debra Rogers, of Fellsmere; sons, George Daley, of Northfield Falls, Vt., and Shawn Daley, of Sebastian; stepdaughters, Kathy Roux, of Easton, Md., and Shirley Dunegan and Lisa Pannizzo, both of Sebastian; stepsons, Larry Roux, of Greenfield, Mass., and Greg Roux, of Sebastian; brothers, Jim Daley, of Salisbury, Vt., and Bill Daley, of Poultney, Vt.; sisters, Mary Pagliarulo, of Chelsea, Mass., Kathy Frost, of Shushan, N.Y., and Nancy Darius, of Plantation; 40 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. March 13 at Strunk Funeral Home in Sebastian with a prayer service at 6 p.m. in the funeral home chapel.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. March 14 at St. Sebastian Catholic Church, followed by interment at Sebastian Cemetery with military honors conducted by the Sebastian Area Veterans’ Honor Guard.
