VERO BEACH — In February and March, Dosomething.org delivered 56 boxes of gently worn jeans to the Children’s Home Society of Florida Treasure Coast Division.
The boxes were split between the Youth Transition Center, a facility for homeless youth who have aged out of foster care, and WaveCREST, a runaway and truancy shelter.
The jeans were collected at Aeropostale in the Treasure Coast mall over the last few months.
Dosomething.org wants to mobilize youth to take on their community’s biggest issues and felt that the jeans drive is a great way to get teens involved.
If a teen donated jeans to the drive, he or she received a discount on a future purchase.
