Marvin Leo Herschberg, 73, died March 7, 2013, at Indian River Medical Center, Vero Beach.
He was born in New York City and lived in Vero Beach since August 2012.
He received a bachelor’s degree in psychology from Long Island University and a master’s degree in social work from Adelphi University.
He worked as a hospital administrator and as an administrator in retirement living campuses in many states.
He enjoyed a second career in real estate.
He provided social work services as a consultant for the Department of Social Services and as a volunteer grief counselor and in the local soup kitchen.
He was a member of St. Helen Catholic Church, Vero Beach.
Survivors include his wife of 36 years, diAnn Herschberg, of Vero Beach; sons, Todd Herschberg, of California, Greg Rushton, of Georgia; daughters, Debra Holder, of California, Tiffany Rushton and Lindsey Billings, both of South Carolina; brother, Seymour Herschberg, of New York; and nine grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Ellen Brody Herschberg.
Memorial contributions may be made to the St. Labre Indian School, Ashland, MT 59004.
A memorial service will be at Hillcrest Cemetery and Chapel, Conway, S.C.
