Treasure Coast Chorale to sing Beatles and 60’s music

VERO BEACH — The Treasure Coast Chorale has announced the program for its next concert scheduled for Sunday, March 10. Entitled “All You Need is Love,” it is a salute to the Beatles and music of the 60’s and will be performed twice, at 3 p.m. and 7 p.m., at the First Baptist Church of Vero Beach.

“This is sure to be a popular concert for our enthusiastic audiences. The Beatles songs were so innovative that they created an entirely new rock sound that is still loved today.

Who cannot be emotionally moved by ‘Yesterday’ or cannot help but sing along with ‘Yellow Submarine?’ We’ll also be singing their 1967 #1 hit ‘Hello, Goodbye’ in a 2010 arrangement for the TV show Glee,” said Michael Carter, Music Director of the TCC.

In addition to 22 of the songs written by John Lennon, Paul McCartney, and George Harrison and performed by the 90-member Treasure Coast Chorale, the program will feature solos, ensembles, and “The Dolls” trio offering other familiar music of the 60’s.

Accompanists include pianist Judy Carter, guitarist Dave Mundy, drummer Richie Mola, and a wind and brass combo.

To more fully participate in the entertainment, audience members are encouraged to dress in 60’s styles and be ready to sing out when requested by the director during certain sections of the concert.

The First Baptist Church is located at 2206 16th Ave. in Vero Beach. Doors will open for seating at 2 p.m. for the matinee concert and at 6 p.m. for the evening event. The audience is encouraged to arrive early as most of the recent TCC concerts have been SRO.

There is no admission charge, but the audience will be asked for a free will offering to show their appreciation for this musical gift to the community.

The last concert of the TCC season will be “Everything is Beautiful” on Mother’s Day, May 12, at 7 p.m.
