VERO BEACH — Dogs For Life, Inc. (DFL,) a 501(c)3 tax deductible, non-profit organization dedicated to improving the quality of life for people with disabilities by training assistance dogs for hearing and mobility dogs, as well as veterans with the effects of PTSD, has received sponsorship toward the DFL Veteran Dog Training Program.
The DFL Board of Directors is grateful to the Vero Beach Country Club for helping to sponsor training for veterans with disabilities and who suffer from the effects of Post Traumatic Stress Syndrome.
It is estimated that over 80,000 retiring veterans from the Iraq and Afghanistan Wars will be retiring to Florida in the next two years. DFL is committed to preparing to help meet their needs through pretraining service dogs.
The Assistance Dog Training Center Campaign is underway, and the training center will be built at the off-leash dog park property located at 12th St. and 16th Ave. in Vero Beach.
