4 arrested, 7 wanted in Fellsmere drug investigation

FELLSMERE — For three months, the Indian River County Multi-Agency Criminal Enforcement Unit has been investigating drug activity in the Carter Hall community of Fellsmere. The investigation came to an end Feb. 28 with the arrests of four people and the identification of seven other suspects.

Investigators seized 10 firearms, 4 grams of marijuana, 5 grams of crack cocaine, 15.2 grams of Methylone, and related drug paraphernalia, according to the Indian River County Sheriff’s Office.

The MACE Unit began its investigation at the behest of several Carter Hall residents who complained of drug activity in the area.

“After the warrants were served, several neighbors approached the detectives and thanked them for their efforts in reducing drug dealing activity in the neighborhood,” the Sheriff’s Office stated in a prepared release.

“When we receive multiple complaints of drug activity in a neighborhood there is always the possibility that it can turn into a large scale investigation such as this one,” Sheriff Deryl Loar said in the release. “In order to protect the integrity of the investigation and the identities of our undercover officers, we cannot tell callers that a case is underway. While this is sometimes initially frustrating to those who see the activity in their neighborhoods, as we learned yesterday, the end result of a detailed and thorough investigation will stand to have longer benefits than a single drug arrest.”

Those arrested in the investigation include Fellsmere residents Virginia and Willie Bibbs 37 and 29, respectively; Algin Hall, 52, and Amanda Walker, 48, all on charges of cocaine possession. Willie Bibbs, Hall and Walker also face charges of selling cocaine.

The Sheriff’s Office has also identified seven other suspects, who have outstanding arrest warrants against them on sale and/or possession of cocaine charges.

The suspects are: Daniel Lewis, 46, Antonio Jennings, 40, Edward Lewis, 44, Kareem Coleman, 22, Alphonso Coleman, 30, Andrew Jones Jr., and Javonte Lewis, 19. They all live in Indian River County with current or previous addresses in Fellsmere or Sebastian.

Anyone with information on the whereabouts of the wanted suspects is asked to contact the MACE Unit at (772) 978-1217.
