VERO BEACH — The Continental Group (TCG,) a FirstService Residential Management company, is hosting a free condominium and HOA community association exposition on Friday, Feb. 22.
The event will take place at the Vero Beach Sports Village located at 3901 26th St. in Vero Beach.
Registration will begin at 9:30 a.m. and will be followed by a Q&A-style panel featuring subject-matter experts at 10 a.m., designed to educate and offer community association board members the opportunity to lead the discussion. A continental breakfast and lunch will be served.
Panelists will include Barbara Abbagnaro with FirstService Residential Realty, Jeff Gomez with Coast to Coast Landscaping, Nikki Monahan and Mitchell Krauss with The Continental Group, Jeff Rembaum with the law firm of Kaye Bender and Rembaum, and Corey Slavik with Brown & Brown Insurance.
Attendees will also be offered an opportunity to meet leading industry vendors during the exposition and attend a condominium board certification course. This course is part of the statewide Continental Certified Educational Program (ConCert) series and is open to any condominium board member who wishes to attend.
Upon completion of the course, a TCG instructor will present newly elected or appointed condominium board members with a certificate of completion that satisfies Florida legal requirements for condominium association board members.
As the leading Florida property management company, TCG shares best practices in the communities it serves to help enhance board effectiveness and efficiency. The ConCert will cover topics focusing on the most critical aspects of day-to-day condominium operations.
Participants will be offered guidance in the areas of the rights, roles, and responsibilities of their position, quorum and meeting requirements, financial reporting and obligations, and effective support and advocacy on behalf of their communities.
A review of documents that govern associations will be highlighted, including Covenants, Conditions and Restrictions (CC&R,) Master Deeds, Articles of Incorporation, and Bylaws and Resolutions.
