Shirley Kline Wittpenn, 82, died Feb. 7, 2013, at her home. She was born in New Haven, Conn. and moved to Vero Beach in 2009, coming from Peapack, N.J.
She had been a winter resident of Vero Beach since 2001.
She was past president of the Newark Junior League, past president of the North Jersey Connecticut College Alumni Club and a Newark Museum volunteer.
She was the co-founder of a Girl Scout Troop in Newark and the Glen Ridge Drug Awareness Committee in New Jersey.
She was also past president of the Friends of Matheny School and was a literacy volunteer, both in Peapack.
She was a graduate of Connecticut College in New London.
Survivors include her husband, Jack Wittpenn; daughters, Dr. Ann Wittpenn, of Charlotte, Vt., and Susan Ott, of Medfield, Mass.; sons, Bob Wittpenn, of Tewksbury, N.J., and John Wittpenn, of Mt. Sinai, N.Y.; and seven grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her brother, Albert Kline.

A celebration of life service will be at 4 p.m. Feb. 16 her home.
Inurnment will be in the Garden of Memory at Glen Ridge Congregational Church at a later date.
