Michael James Gillespie, 64, Vero Beach

Michael James Gillespie, 64, died Feb. 8, 2013, at his home.

He was born in Kingston, N.Y., and lived in Vero Beach for seven years, coming from New York.

Before retirement, he worked as a postmaster in Leeds, N.Y., for 27 years.

He was of the Catholic faith and attended the Cathedral of Immaculate Conception, Albany, N.Y., and First Church of God, Vero Beach.

He served in the Army.

Survivors include his brother, James Gillespie, of Vero Beach; stepson, Tyler Gillespie, of Ohio; and one grandchild.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Teresa Gillespie.

Memorial contributions may be made to VNA Hospice, 1110 35th Lane, Vero Beach, FL 32960.

Private family services will be conducted at a later date.

Arrangements are by Cox Gifford Seawinds Funeral Home and Crematory in Vero Beach.
