VERO BEACH — “Being that the HETY Award embraces the notion of helping all kids along the Treasure Coast from toddlers to teens, awarding the Hibiscus Children’s Center with this recognition was a perfect fit,” explained Girard Equipment’s Marketing Director Anna Valencia during the Girard Equipment mini-award ceremony held Jan. 29 at the Girard headquarters.
The Hibiscus Children’s Center is an organization that provides safety for abused, abandoned, and neglected children by offering them shelter and recovery programs for over twenty-eight years.
With two locations to help serve the children of the Treasure Coast, their Vero Beach location houses older children ranging from early teens to eighteen years of age. This location teaches them how to prepare for the real world with skills such as home economics, checkbook balancing, interviewing skills, and more.
The St. Lucie location houses the younger children from infants to tweens.
In order to help raise awareness and funds for the organization, special events coordinator Veronica Kolibab is launching the first Passport to Wine & Dine on Monday, Feb. 11, from 5:30-8:30 p.m. at the Vero Beach Yacht Club.
This tasty event features expertly paired wines from various regions around the world with savory small plates. Get a unique passport souvenir and a night to never forget while helping a worthwhile cause that serves to protect the children of Indian River County.
