Herbert Steffen, 83, died Feb. 4, 2013, at the VNA Hospice House in Vero Beach.
He was born in Hannover, Germany, and lived in Vero Beach for 15 years, coming from Kings Park, N.Y.
He worked as a cook for more than 40 years at St. Johnland Nursing Center in Kings Park.
He was of the Lutheran faith.
Survivors include his sisters, Elfriede Steffen, Lotte Steffen Hubschmann and Erika Steffen, all of Germany.
Arrangements are by Cox-Gifford-Seawinds Funeral Home and Crematory, Vero Beach.
