Beethoven’s Eroica at Trinity Episcopal Feb. 17

VERO BEACH — Guest conductor Michael Hall will lead the Space Coast Symphony Orchestra during their performance of Beethoven’s Eroica on Sunday, Feb. 17, at 3 p.m. at Trinity Episcopal Church, 2365 Pine Ave. in Vero Beach.

Also known as the Symphony No. 3 in E flat major, the towering achievement by Beethoven permanently changed all previously held notions on the nature of the symphony.

Opening the concert, the memorable Passacaglia and Fugue in c minor blooms with orchestral color in Leopold Stokowski’s transcription of J.S. Bach’s mighty masterpiece.

The diverse program also spotlights pianist Rochelle Sallee, a native of Vero Beach, who returns to perform Mendelssohn’s romantic Piano Concerto No. 1.

$20 advance tickets are available through the orchestra website at www.SpaceCoastSymphony.org or at several convenient ticket outlets, including Marine Bank & Trust (beachside and mainland branches) and Madison Avenue Consignments.

Tickets at the door are $25; students 18 years of age and under are admitted free.

Discounted tickets are provided through the SCSO Symphony for Everyone program. See details at www.SpaceCoastSymphony.org or call toll free to (855) 252-7276 for more information.

Artistic Director Aaron T. Collins is happy to welcome Rochelle Sallee back for another performance with the Space Coast Symphony Orchestra.

“Shelley’s playing style has a way of reaching into the soul,” said Collins. “The Mendelssohn piano concerto is pure enchantment, and I know her hometown audience will love every minute of it.”
