Vero Beach police need help identifying Good Samaritan

VERO BEACH — The Vero Beach Police Department is seeking the public’s help in identifying a female citizen who assisted an officer last November.

The incident occurred on Wednesday, Nov. 28, around 4:20 p.m. in the area of A1A and Tides Road on the barrier island. Officer Myron Pratt had been called out to the area in response to a man who had fallen from his bicycle.

According to the police department, a woman in her late 30s or early 40s with brown hair stopped on A1A to assist the man, giving him CPR. The man had been bleeding from his head.

The woman told bystanders that she was a “first responder” and, according to the police department, is believed to be in the medical field, possibly a nurse.

A witness told police that the woman “took charge” and “clearly knew what she was doing.” She left the scene in a silver Mercedes before officers could get the woman’s name.

Anyone who knows the woman who helped administer aid to the bicyclist is asked to contact the Vero Beach Police Department by calling Captain Keith Touchberry at (772) 978-4679.
