Eugene L. (Gene) Ferguson, 85, of Vero Beach died Sunday, Jan. 27 at The Arbors at the Lakes of Pointe West, Vero Beach.
A native of Wichita, Kansas, Gene came to Vero Beach in 1992 from Stony Brook, L.I., NY.
A member of Asbury United Methodist Church in Vero Beach, Gene had served on the HOA Board in Heron Cay and also enjoyed square dancing with the Heron Cay Twirlers.
He was a veteran of WW II and Korea having served in the US Navy.
He had spent many years in Management with the W.T. Grant Company and Southampton Lumber on Long Island.
Survivors include his wife of 31 years, Helen; daughter: Patti (Bernie) Vining, of Laguna Beach, Calif.; sons: Jim (Sherry) Ferguson, of Santa Rosa, Calif.; Bill Ferguson, of Parker, Colo.; stepdaughter: Vicki (Greg) Zion, of Brandon, Mass.; stepsons: Jeff (Karen) Russell, of Fresno, Calif., Brad Russell, of Merrimack, N.H.; brother: Ernie (Vivian) Ferguson, of Jasper, Ga.; and twelve grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a brother: William Ferguson and sister: Marion Smith.
The family suggests memorial donations to the Visiting Nurse Association & Hospice Foundation, 1110 35th Lane, Vero Beach, FL 32960.
There will be no services and inurnment will be at Fountainhead Memorial Park, Palm Bay, Fla.
