Albert Minot “Pete” Eggeman, 89, Vero Beach

Albert Minot “Pete” Eggeman, 89, died Jan. 29, 2013, at VNA Hospice House.

He was born in St. Louis and moved to Vero Beach in 1998, coming from St. Petersburg.

Before retirement, he owned a carpet cleaning business in the Clearwater/St. Petersburg area.

Before that he had been a stock broker. Before moving to Florida he worked for Rexall Drug Co. in St. Louis and Boston and Witco Chemical Co. in New York. He was involved with the Clearwater Chamber of Commerce; Kiwanis Club; and Rotary Club of Clearwater, serving as president, and served as a board member for the Mease Hospital, Dunedin.

He was a member of St. Augustine of Canterbury Episcopal Church in Vero Beach. In St. Petersburg, he was a member of St. Bartholomew’s Episcopal Church and was on the Vestry of St. John’s Episcopal Church in Clearwater and St. Bartholomew’s.

He graduated from Washington University St. Louis in 1946 with a degree in chemistry.

Survivors include his wife, Beverly, of Vero Beach; daughters, Linda Swayne, of Charlotte, NC., and Gail Lizabeth Eggeman, of St. Petersburg; son, James Baird Eggeman, of Clearfield, Pa.; stepdaughters, Susan Parry and Jan Parry; five grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Memorial contributions may be made to the VNA Hospice of Indian River County, 1110 35th Lane, Vero Beach, FL 32960.

A memorial service will be held at a later date.

Arrangements are by Thomas S. Lowther Funeral Home and Crematory in Vero Beach.
