Raymond C. Burr Sr., 87, Sebastian

Raymond C. Burr Sr., 87, died Jan. 26, 2013, at Indian River Medical Center in Vero Beach.

He was born in Brookfield, Conn., and lived in Sebastian for 17 years, coming from Southbury, Conn.

He served in the Navy during World War II and the Korean War.

He was salesman for Sippin Energy Products in Monroe, Conn., for 25 years before his retirement in 1996.

He attended the Newbury Congregational Church in Brookfield.

He was a member of Sebastian Masonic Lodge No. 232, Sebastian; Master of Hiram Lodge 18, Sandy Hook, Conn.; Scottish Rite, Valley of Bridgeport; Azan Shrine Center, Melbourne, and a life member of the VFW Post 10210, Sebastian.

Survivors include his wife of 35 years, Judith Burr; sons, Raymond C. Burr Jr. and William Burr; stepson, Michael B. Norton; stepdaughter, Linda M. Norton; brothers, Donald Burr and John Burr; sisters, Marilyn Ober and Marjorie Carmody; and three grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his brothers, Lawrence Burr and Phillip Burr.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Shriners Hospital for Children, 2900 Rocky Point Drive, Tampa, FL 31356.

Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Jan. 31 at Strunk Funeral Home, Sebastian.

A memorial service will follow at 7 p.m.

Burial will be in Newtown, Conn.
