Seymore Johnston Jr., 76, died Jan. 23, 2013, at Kindred Hospital, Melbourne.
He was born in Albany, N.Y., and lived in Vero Beach since 1980, coming from West Palm Beach, where he was the caretaker at the Jack Nicklaus residence.
Before retirement he worked for Dodgertown as a groundskeeper.
He was a veteran of the Navy.
He was a member of the Vero Beach Veterans.
Survivors include his daughter, Mary Beth Stone, of Vero Beach; son, Robert Johnston, of Hobe Sound; four grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held at a later date.
