“Big Band Bash” jazz concerts at VBHS

VERO BEACH — The Vero Beach High School Band Department presents “BIG BAND BASH” jazz concerts on Monday, Feb. 4, and Tuesday, Feb. 5, at 7 p.m. in the Performing Arts Center, 1707 16th St.

This evening of jazz music will pay tribute to Duke Ellington, Jerome Kern, Oscar Hammerstein, Benny Goodman, and Glenn Miller, among other Big Band greats, such as Count Basie and George and Ira Gershwin.

Featuring the award winning VBHS Jazz Bands, the performance will be led by Mr. James Sammons and Mr. Page Howell. Some selections will include All The Things You Are, Stella By Starlight, A Time For Love, Satin Doll, The Look of Love, Out of Nowhere, and Engine No. 9.

In addition, special guests from Storm Grove, Oslo, and Gifford Middle Schools will perform on the Tuesday night concert.

Tickets are only $10 for the upper mezzanine level and $12 for the lower orchestra level. Please call the box office at (772) 564-5537 to reserve your seats.

Proceeds will benefit the education of Indian River County students.
