Donald Edmund Hanson, 87, died Janu. 20, 2013, at Indian River Medical Center.
He was born in Boston and moved to Vero Beach more than 40 years ago, coming from Stafford County, Va.
He served in the Navy during World War II. He was a member of First United Methodist Church, Vero Beach.
He was preceded in death by a son, Donald “Kent” Hanson, in 2012.
Survivors include his wife of 69 years, Joyce Hanson; daughter, Tenley Joyce Hanson, of Orlando; and one grandchild.

Inurnment will take place at the Crestlawn Cemetery Columbarium, Vero Beach.
Arrangements are by the Thomas S. Lowther Funeral Home & Crematory, Vero Beach.
