Richard Paul “Dick” Bogosian, 89, died Jan. 15, 2013, at Royal Palm Convalescent Center, Vero Beach.
He was born in Cambridge, Mass., and lived in Vero Beach for 51 years, coming from Boston.
He was a county commissioner, serving from 1965 to 1972.
He was an Army veteran of World War II.
In 1962, he opened the W.T. Grant Co. store in Vero Beach’s Miracle Mile Shopping Center.
He opened his own law practice in 1965.
He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Vero Beach, member of the Vero Beach Country Club.
He attended law school at Northeastern University and was admitted to the Massachusetts Bar in 1951.
Survivors include his daughters, Arlyne L. Ferrara, of The Villages, Barbara B. Power, of Vero Beach, Heather B. Schoonmaker, of Knoxville, Tenn., and Paula B. Boutwell, of Orlando; and seven grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 40 years, Norma Esther Pederson Bogosian.
Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Jan. 18 at Strunk Funeral Home, Vero Beach.
A celebration of life will be held 1 p.m. Jan. 19 at the First Presbyterian Church, Vero Beach, with Dr. G. Timothy Womack officiating.
Interment will follow in Crestlawn Cemetery with military honors conducted by the Army Honor Guard.
