Annual Science Fair will offer more than $1.2 million in scholarships

VERO BEACH — The Education Foundation of Indian River County is pleased to announce that more than $1.2 million in scholarships and academic awards will be offered at the upcoming Indian River Regional Science and Engineering Fair (IRRSEF) on Feb. 2.

Florida Institute of Technology (FIT) is pleased to offer $1,248,000 in scholarships. Thirteen first place winners will be offered a $54,000 Florida Tech Scholarship ($13,500 per year for four years of study.)

Thirteen second place winners will be offered a $42,000 scholarship ($10,500 a year for four years of study.)

Recipients must be accepted to and enroll at FIT as full-time students to claim these scholarships.

In addition, scholarships will be offered from the following: Embry Riddle Aeronautical University, Piper Aircraft, Syngenta, Indian River State College, the Link Foundation, and the George E. Warren Corporation.

Presently, the Education Foundation is seeking volunteers to judge the science fair and sponsors to help underwrite the awards and operation of the IRRSEF.

The IRRSEF serves more than 27 public and private schools in Indian River County. The success of this regional event is attributed to the continued support of the community.

The Indian River Regional Science and Engineering Fair is presented in partnership with the School District of Indian River County and is supported by private donations and grant assistance.
