VERO BEACH — The Vero Beach Christian Business Association surpassed the $100,000 milestone in giving since 2004 at their December Celebration of Giving luncheon when they disbursed over $14,000 to 13 local Christian nonprofits.
The funds represent dues from more than a hundred members, various fundraisers, and donations.
Local organizations receiving funds for specific needs this year were: Breath of Heaven Ministries, CareNet, Christian FM, CrossLife Counseling, Epic Missions, Master’s Academy, Next Level Productions, Salvation Army, The Source, Teen Challenge, Victory Kids, Women’s Refuge, and Youth for Christ.
The annual Celebration of Giving luncheon was the culmination of two months of reaching out to local charities, including a Thanksgiving food drive for Harvest Food & Outreach Center, a Christmas toy drive for Breath of Heaven Ministries, and ringing the bell at the red kettle for the Salvation Army.
A 501(c)3 nonprofit organization, VBCBA is an equipping and networking ministry for Christian businesspeople and publishes a printed directory annually in January.
The organization holds monthly luncheon meetings on the fourth Thursday of the month at The Plaza, 884 17th St. in Vero Beach.
Luncheon meetings are open to both members and nonmembers.
