Culture Quest “A social media scavenger hunt”

INDIAN RIVER COUNTY — Culture Quest is now building teams to raise big money for their favorite nonprofit. To participate, individuals must get together a team, choose their nonprofit beneficiary, get sponsors, and register ($100 per team plus $50 per team member.)

A smart phone and Facebook page are required to have a team. Teams must be organized and registered by Jan. 18.

On Saturday, Feb. 2, the day of the hunt, teams will show up at the Press Journal, located at 1801 US 1, in costume at 8:30 a.m. Teams will be given clues to cultural sites from north to south Indian River County and everywhere in between.

At 9 a.m., teams will begin the hunt, returning to the Press Journal building no later than 4 p.m. When a team finds a cultural site, they must photograph the site and answer the questions given as clues, posting them to the team’s Facebook page.

An Awards Party will be held in the VIP Lounge at Vero Bowl from 5-7 p.m.

The highest scoring team will win $2,000 for their nonprofit “charity.”

The first place team will receive $800 cash, 1-year membership in the Cultural Council ($200,) and full page ad in the 2013-14 Arts and Cultural Information Guide ($1,000.)

2nd place wins ½ page ad in the 2013-2014 Arts and Cultural Information Guide, valued at $550.

3rd place wins a 1-year membership in the Cultural Council.

The remaining proceeds benefit the Cultural Council.

A total of $2,750 in prizes will be awarded.
